Website Redesign for unlearn.

unlearn. is a company offering a range of products and services centred around human rights and social justice, with a mission to provoke thought and inspire positive change. The project focused on refreshing the company’s digital presence, addressing challenges with website navigation and brand clarity. With a diverse range of services and audiences, the goal was to create a more intuitive and cohesive online experience that clearly communicated the company’s offerings, strengthened its visual identity, and made its mission more accessible to visitors.

The primary focus of the project was leading the redesign of the company’s website. The process began with an in-depth assessment of the existing site to identify usability issues, content gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Key challenges included lengthy blocks of text, inconsistent typographic hierarchy, redundant pages, broken or inactive links, and unclear communication of the company’s services. These findings informed a series of design and structural solutions aimed at creating a more intuitive, accessible, and cohesive user experience, outlined below.

Before

Proposal Wireframes

Following the development of new wireframes and a revised site map (shown below), the redesign focused on addressing existing usability bottlenecks through a series of strategic improvements. These included incorporating more imagery, restructuring content into multi-column layouts with minimal code adjustments, and refining the overall content hierarchy. Together, these changes improved navigation, strengthened visual communication, and made the company’s services and messaging clearer and more accessible to visitors.

First Iteration

With additional time and resources, the initial wireframes were revisited, allowing the original design vision to be fully realized through a complete website rebuild. The result is a sleek, contemporary, and user-friendly website with a clear organizational structure that makes navigating the company’s diverse services more intuitive. A full suite of custom digital icon illustrations was also developed to represent the various unlearn. businesses and services, creating a recognizable visual language across the brand. Through the thoughtful use of imagery, iconography, and colour, the redesign established a cohesive visual identity that carries consistently across the website, social media, and other business platforms. The transformation is showcased in the examples below.
